History
The Pro Aero Foundation pays the major part of the contributions it makes annually to the Swiss Aero Club for the promotion of aviation and the rising generation in flying. The contributions are then shared out appropriately. The branches of model flying, gliding, powered flying, ballooning and parachute jumping are particularly favoured here.
Founding Dates
The Pro Aero Foundation developed out of the Aero Club in 1938. The latter was no longer able to cope with the many different tasks and demands placed upon it, including those of a financial nature, and in 1938 called for a mass campaign.
Pro Aero became the trustee for incoming donations. In the years that followed numerous campaigns for donations were successfully brought into being by Pro Aero, and important stimuli given to Swiss aviation.

A nation that does not fly will be left behind
The Pro Aero Foundation appealed to the Swiss people with an extensive advertising campaign, in order to create a broad financial basis for the years to come. PDF-Files only German.
Postage Stamps
The issue of special postage stamps has a long tradition with Pro Aero. So among other events, the golden jubilee of the Foundation in 1988 was once again the occasion for a new issue of a special stamp. Here the Foundation, as in previous campaigns, was able to count on the great support of the PTT head-office management.
